South Calgary is the inner-city neighbourhood on the north side of Marda Loop, between 26 Avenue SW and the shops of 33 and 34 Avenue, from Crowchild Trail east to 14 Street SW. It was subdivided in 1906, and a streetcar loop opened here in 1913, which, together with the old Marda Theatre, gave Marda Loop its name.
