Upper Mount Royal is one of Calgary's original upscale neighbourhoods: curving, tree-lined streets on the hill south of 17 Avenue SW, laid out by the Canadian Pacific Railway between 1905 and 1911, with help from the Olmsted Brothers landscape firm on the 1911 section. It was first nicknamed "American Hill" for the wealthy Americans who built here, and the CPR renamed it Mount Royal.
Homes here are large, and only about three sell a month. 39 sold over the last 12 months, almost all detached, and recent sales ran from about $1.35M to $4.98M. The live listings are below, followed by detailed prices, the heritage streets, schools and how Upper Mount Royal compares.
