Sunalta is an inner-city community just west of downtown Calgary, from the Bow River south to Bow Trail and 17 Avenue SW, between 14 Street and the edge of Shaganappi Point Golf Course. The Canadian Pacific Railway laid it out in 1909 and sold 25-foot lots for $250; early residents were mostly labourers, carpenters and railway workers, and the name is thought to come from "Sunny Alberta". Today it has its own CTrain station, a large stock of walk-up condos and the Pumphouse Theatres on the river.
Most homes are walk-up condos: 33 of the 43 sales over the last 12 months were condos, mostly for about $145K to $253K, a low entry price for a condo this close to downtown. Below are the live listings, then condo prices and fees, transit, the river and how Sunalta compares.
