Southcentre Mall, with about 170 stores, is across Macleod Trail in Willow Park, and a pedestrian bridge over Macleod Trail links it to Anderson station.

The Southwood branch of the Calgary Public Library is at 924 Southland Drive SW, and the community hall at 11 Sackville Drive SW has a community garden. The City lists two off-leash areas in Southwood.

Southland Leisure Centre is just west in Palliser, and Fish Creek Provincial Park is a short drive south past Canyon Meadows.
