The Weaselhead Flats, a natural area where the Elbow River enters the Glenmore Reservoir, and the reservoir pathways are on the community's north edge, and the City lists an off-leash area in Oakridge.

The new Calgary Co-op store at 2580 Southland Drive opened in 2025 as part of the Oakridge Crossing redevelopment, which also plans homes and more shops on the site.

Southland Leisure Centre, with a wave pool and arenas, is just east across 24 Street, and the community association at 9504 Oakfield Drive SW has tennis courts and rinks.
